A record of becoming

Kinshasa Anglin is a Chicago-based visual artist and storyteller whose work explores identity, memory, culture, and the human experience through both traditional and digital mediums. Her practice spans painting, mixed media, digital illustration, motion graphics, and live visual storytelling, allowing her to move fluidly between fine art and professional creative work.

She earned her BFA in Animation from Ball State University with a concentration in 3D modeling and motion graphics. Following graduation, Anglin worked as a freelance artist creating digital illustrations, portraits, branding visuals, motion graphics, and custom commissions. She currently works as a traveling visual note-taker, translating complex ideas into live illustrated narratives for corporate events, conferences, and organizations nationwide.

In her studio practice, Anglin creates large-scale narrative paintings and mixed-media works centered on the Black experience, womanhood, faith, and emotional storytelling. Her work is rooted in lived experience while remaining intentionally universal, inviting viewers to reflect, connect, and see themselves within the stories being told. Whether working digitally or traditionally, her mission remains consistent: to create art that honors humanity, complexity, and shared memory.
