MIA Haircare
MIA Haircare wanted its launch imagery to feel fun, sporty, youthful, and vibrant. Working alongside Jordan Polk, the brand’s CEO, Kinshasa helped translate that vision into a visual direction that reflected the energy of the product and its bright color palette. Miami was selected as the shoot location, providing colorful, beach-inspired environments that complemented the brand’s playful identity.
As a Black woman-owned haircare brand, MIA centered Black women while maintaining an inclusive approach to its audience. The goal was to visually communicate that the products could support a range of hair types and textures, so diversity in casting became an important part of the creative direction.

Ideation & Creative Direction
Kinshasa helped shape the shoot through casting, styling, wardrobe sourcing, scene planning, and model coordination. Each model was paired with specific environments and looks to create a cohesive visual story across the campaign.

Final Product
The Miami shoot produced the primary launch imagery used throughout MIA Haircare’s website and digital brand presence. The finished content combined bright environments, expressive styling, diverse casting, and product-focused compositions to establish a cohesive visual identity for the launch.
The result was a collection of imagery that positioned MIA as youthful, energetic, inclusive, and approachable, while providing flexible creative assets that could be adapted across desktop and mobile experiences.
