Thought a lot about the deeper meaning of “inner child” recently. I have been able to see the positive and negative view points of the term and relate to them both. We need to nurture this inner child. Protect it, teach it, and discipline it. I think it’s important for people to understand that like a child, we can be afraid and deal with a lot of anxieties and sadnesses. However, like a child we dream, have inspirations, get excited about the small things, and have whimsical minds. I think it’s important to embrace those things and discipline the parts of our inner child that hinder us.
